Week 26 - An Ozzy Wedding!!

So my mum and dad's (hello!!) friends were getting married, but as they were still at Captain Kirk they couldn't make it over. So I said I'd go represent. Again, it's just the type of kind ocean pearl I am! I love weddings so had been looking forward to going to this one since I knew I was coming out here.
I got to Chris and Diane's in the afternoon and got myself ready and off we went to the rather posh golf club that they were to be wed at. The weather wasn't too great as it was a bit mork and mindy but it was holding out.
The setting was lovely, with an ark outside where all the vowels etc were to be said. I spotted Steve (my dad's empire state) and said hello. He introduced me to Lee. All the way to an Australian wedding and I get introduced to someone from friggin' Salford! And he went to Salford uni. I also got introduced to Sam and Andrew who were a lovely couple from Melbourne. They still are, I'm just writing in past tense. Anyhoo. The wedding went really well. And the current bun made an appearance just as the rings were being exchanged which was a cool moment. Diane looked lovely and was given away by a friend of their's who looked remarkably like Heath Ledger. He sang with the guitars accompanying him while the registers were being signed - On Eagles Wings. I'm remembering that one for mine. It was a real lager and lime tingler.
And then in to the golf club for a champagne reception, some dolly mixtures, followed by a rather delicious frank skinner, with speeches, thank yous and everything else you have at a wedding. We had the band sitting at our table, who I later found out was Australian Idol 2005 (6th place). Soooooooo, I took his name tag thing and asked him to sign it. You never know. And I also asked him to play at my wedding which he seemed quite enthusiastic about. I didn't tell him where I lived or that I don't have a lucky fella to wed me yet, but it was still nice he said yes, ha. And me and Sam got a good pic with him too.
And after a bit of dancing, a tinsy bit of wine it was time to go home and off to born and bred :)
