Week 25 - Byron Bay

Top twelve things to do in Byron Bay
1. Arrive in Byron Bay
2. Stay at Beachbackpackers
3. Make friends with the Dutch girl who comes in to your dorm on the same day as you and go out for a drink
4. Get a wee bit tiddly with new dutch friend Elianne and shake on doing a skydive
5. Book a skydive
6. Do a 14,000 ft skydive, freefall for 10,000 of it which takes just 60 seconds, even though it took 25 minutes to get up there, and at 4,000ft think you must be nearly there already because it's so damn high but actually you've still got another 10,000ft to climb yet, and think it the most thrilling thing you ever did do and very much want to do another one...
(One small don't - Don't ask your tandem person if he's Polish just because his name is 'Stefan'. He's German. Get slightly more nervous that he might just drop you from 14,000ft...)
7. Go out the same evening and tell most people you did a skydive
8. Go to the beach when it stops raining and tell a few more passers by about the skydive
9. Go to Cheeky Monkeys - a club very much alike to 'The Venue.'Woop Woop! But try not to tumble and bruise alot of your leg :(
10. Have a nice chat to 2 irish blokes and tell them that what you miss most about home is getting hugs from friends and family. When they respond with a nice big hug (and a vodka, soda and lime), remember it as a grand line for future chats with nice irish men :)
11. Talk to ALOT of people in the 'falaffel' (kebab) place on the way home, 2 of which were born once again in the same hospital as me, and another who went to Hurstmere (the next school down from the one I went to).
12. Look forward to returning to Byron Bay with Sarah, Laura and Ryan when they get to Oz in Feb!! WEYHEYYY!!!!!!!!!!!
xxxxxx
