So we got up nice and early and got our taxis to the pier... just. Our taxi didn't turn up. Actually he did, but he had too many people on already. So he made a call, turned and nervously laughed at us and drove off. Our hope that he had called for another taxi was confirmed when we were soon picked up by someone else. There were masses of people at the pier all wanting to leave the party island. The boat was about 4 hours to the main land and boy was it a HOT journey. Maybe it was just where me and Billie were sitting, but we did melt slightly. We managed to cram in some cookies though...
Off the boat we get and a bit of a wait with some food stall food, and then on to our bus. A little overcrowded. Hollie and I just about got the last 2 proper seats. There were some others who were given garden chairs to sit in the isle. Problem solved. Haha. I sat next to a thai 'rasta' who was very chatty. He told me about his past and life in Thailand. He left home when he was 14 because he didn't want them to have to provide for him anymore. He wanted to earn and provide for them. I could see that we had a lot in common... anyway at the ripe young age of 14 he moved up to Bangkok and became a jeweller for 3 years. He was always into his music and eventually became a DJ. He now lives on Railay (in Krabi) as a DJ in a bar, and was on the way back from the full moon party after DJing.
A couple of hours later and we arrived at Krabi. As usual in the middle of nowhere. It was a shelter with people selling places to stay. After lots of searching and phoning for places to go or stay (by Rosie, Hollie and Billie - I thought it best to leave the pros to it) we had decided to move on straight to Railay beach. Railay is west of Krabi and can only be got to by longtail boat. It was 9pm by now but another couple of people wanted to go as well so they said we could go. About 9 people is the right amount for a longtail boat. Let's just keep that in mind. We got in a bus thing and got taken to the 'pier'. I have to use this word rather losely. It appiered (see what I did there?!) to just be a bit of concrete next to the sea...
